The Show

Annie is a musical by Thomas Meehan based on a popular Harold Gray comic strip, Little Orphan Annie, with music and lyrics by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin.  It is set in New York during the Great Depression and follows the story of the young Annie, who is plucked from a miserable life in an orphanage to spend a Christmas with billionaire, Oliver Warbucks.

The production debuted on Broadway in 1977 and then in the West End in the following year.  The musical is now being revived at the West End’s Piccadilly Theatre, having been absent from London for 18 years.

The Piccadilly Theatre is owned by the Ambassador Theatre Group.  The best place to buy tickets is through their website.  For more information about your visit to the Piccadilly Theatre, read our guide.
