Dreamgirls is a musical by Tom Eyen with music by Henry Krieger telling the story of a young female group from Chicago called The Dreams and their journey to stardom. The group is lead by Effie White with Deena Jones and Lorrell Robinson.
The show began its life at Broadway’s Imperial Theatre in December 1981 where it received much acclaim, including six Tony Awards. It was later adapted into a film in 2006 starring Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy and Beyoncé.
