The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a play adaption by Simon Stephens based on the novel by Mark Haddon. The story follows that of Christopher Boone and his investigation of the neighbour’s dog’s mysterious death. The young Christopher is autistic and the story touches on his relationships with his parents and school mentor.
The play premiered in August 2012 at the Royal National Theatre before transferring to the Apollo Theatre in the following year. However, due to the collapse of the Apollo Theatre’s roof, the show was forced to close. The play transferred again to the nearby Gielgud Theatre and began performances there in July 2014 and closed on 3rd June 2017.
The show is now returning to the West End’s Piccadilly Theatre for a limited run beginning in November 2018.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time opened at the Piccadilly Theatre in November 2018 and will end its run in April 2019. The Piccadilly Theatre opened in April 1928, firstly as a theatre, before being converted into a cabaret restaurant and then a casino. It closed for a period following damage during WWII, and when it reopened, it became a venue for plays and musicals.
The Piccadilly Theatre is owned by the Ambassador Theatre Group, therefore the best place to buy tickets for this play if through their website. For more information on your visit to the Piccadilly Theatre, read our guide.
